Last Minute Fill-In Wins February Fab 5 Tournament Finale

Drew Kriesa was kind enough to pull together a team from the Tuesday GFL league at Odyssey for a last-minute drop-out in the Fab 5 tournament in February.  Team chemistry matured immediately as they won the final 5-Star Tournament of the year; the Fab 5 team tournament.

The #6 seeded Team Kriesa (Tim Olszewski, Randy Meyer, Mike Mullikin, Mike Heling, Drew Kriesa) defeated #8 seed Team Tim Felsinger (Karen Walczak, Jessi Keyes, Steve DeKerf, Kim Vetter, Tim Felsinger) in the finale 461 – 441 and their first Fab 5 Championship.

In the semi-finals, Team Kriesa defeated #7 Team Cookie (Kathy Walber, Amy Cook, Denise Schroeder, Jen Schaetzer, Todd Schaetzer) 441 – 428 while Team Tim Felsinger defeated brother and #5 seeded Team Troy Felsinger (Sue Karstaedt, Ryan Dana, Tim Thill, Tracy Thill, Troy Felsinger) 394 – 387.

In opening round matches, Team Cookie defeated #2 seeded, and three-time defending champion Team Alfson (Shannon Alfson, Josh Bowen, Sherry Alfson, Duane Werdeo, Sara Alfson) 454 – 405, Team Kriesa defeated #3 Team Tock (Jeremy Brunner, Paul Beeck, Trisha Mullane, Neil Wolf, Jeremy Tock) 405 – 366, Team Troy Felsinger defeated #4 Team Party Animals (Pat Laitinen, Pat Bersch, Ken Renzelman, TJ Renzelman, Mike Hanson) 439 – 411 and Team Tim Felsinger defeated #1 Team McCue (Cindy Kosik, Amy Meifert, Timm Anderson, Travis Sommer, Bryan McCue) 516 – 484.

In the One-Shot-Pot game we had two winners split the $260 pot; Ben Cleveland and Paul Gloede.

Tim Felsinger won a Roto Grip Defiant Soul bowling ball after having his name drawn from the ticket bucket.  We believe this is Tim’s second ball raffle he won along with his three earned as the 2008-09 Bowler of the Year.

Speaking of the Bowler of the Year, Steve DeKerf amassed 283 points throughout the season to win the Roto Grip Bowler of the year over Tim Felsinger (246) and Troy Felsinger (234) and Paul Gloede (228).  Steve selected two Defiant Soul’s and a Defiant Edge bowling ball.

Steve also won the bowling ball raffle at the Holiday Classic choosing the Roto Grip Defiant bowling ball – That’s FOUR bowling balls this year Steve has won on the 5-Star Tour!!
